Jamie Oliver's TED wish

Incredible. Makes you really think about what goes into the mouths of our children. I love Jamie Oliver, and use many of his recipes in my everyday family cooking. This TED talk needs to be spread and needs to take hold in the school systems of America. See how you feel after watching...

Canon 1DmarkIV...Video production

This clip of a horse race shot by photographer Dan Chung is a testament to how much potential there is in the new dslr's from Canon. The video was shot at 60fps on Canon's new camera, and slowed down to 23.93fps. The possibilities are limitless with video becoming a prominent medium for work in the industry. With print publications moving to online solutions and camera technology becoming more hybrid than ever, video as well as still production is the future.

In the coming year, I'll be putting that technology to the test creating a new product line. I look forward to development and I look forward to the possibilities... More to come...

In the meantime...to the races...

Canon G10 for fun

I picked up a Canon Powershot G10 a couple days ago, and I love carrying what amounts to a rangefider/point & shoot - perfect street camera and personal/family camera on those days where hauling big gear just isn't in the cards. Totally shocked with the output of the G10, I've heard only the best things about it and it certainly lives up to its reviews. It is not in anyway a replacement for the larger SLRs, but works great for being compact, 100percent controllable and awesome all around. For the shot of Gabe and I, I put a 580exII in the hotshoe of the G10 and aimed it up at the ceiling - iso 80 with fantastic results.

Happy Anniversary to the Wife of My Life!

wife of my life

To the girl of my dreams, the wife of my life, the calada of my eye, Happy Anniversary! 10 years of togetherness and 4 years of married life goes by so fast, and I cherish every moment. You are the most beautiful, caring, and loving woman I know. I'm so thankful for you babes - You pick me up when I'm down, you love unconditionally, you have more caring in you for our family and the children you see every day than is humanly possible, and for all of these things and many others I love you more than anything I could ever write in any amount of space. You are the sunshine of my life, and I love you.
